Matthew Archer (born about 1761) and Elizabeth Murphy (daughter of Peter Murphy and Barbara Babeli Fritscher) Their children: Rachel, John, Thomas, Peter, Jacob, Martin, Maria, and Catherine (from Geisenberg Church records) Thomas Archer (born April 28, 1795) and Jemima Stevens or Kinsman (possibly married a Kinsman before Thomas Archer?) Their children: Isaac, Eliza, Laney, Betsey, Nancy, Catherine, Alfred, and Almira. Almira Jane Archer (born October 05, 1837) and Chauncey House. Family legend says that Thomas Archer was a Mohawk Indian, but I found a John Archer buried in Cherry Valley, NY who was a native of Eckford, Scotland and whose birth date fits as a child of Matthew Archer and Elizabeth Murphy. A Martin Archer, born in NY, was found in New London, Indiana in 1880 whose father was born in Scotland and mother was  born in England. His birth date also fits with this family. Minden, Danube, Starkville, Fort Plain area of New York.
