John applied for Declaration of Intent on 1 November 1894 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio but was refused Citizenship on 28 March 1899 by Dissilte? (illegible) Judge. They did not understand about the Naturalization and the court date. They did not show up for court, which is why they were refused. They stayed in the United States anyway, and their children were born in the house at 282 North Rocky River Drive, Berea Ohio. The house is no longer there, it was demolished in 2000 and a CVS pharmacy was built on the property. Ref. Grave marker-Rome Wotolevitch, Pvt, 145 Ohio Inf NG, March 4, 1926. Served in Company A, 5th Regiment during World War I. Due to Roman not having a Serial Number, he probably did not see action over seas. He was discharged on 24 Jan 1918 with a Sergeon's Certificate of Disability. He is named in the book "Historical Stories of Old Berea and Middleburgh Township" (pg 39).

P F C in US Army during WWII. Assigned to Battery C, 456th Antiaircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion. Status is Missing in Action or Buried at Sea. Name is on the WWII Monument in Cambridge England. "He was serving with the Coast Artillery when he was killed" as reported in the The Berea Enterprise Newspaper on 9 Mar 1945 (Volume48 Number10 Page1). Benny was killed aboard the Liberty Ship H. G. Blasdel when it was torpedoed by U-984
en route to Utah Beach, Normandy France as part of convoy EMC-17 (Patton's First Wave).
