Note by George W. Archer

The obits below came from the URL: http://newsandsentinel.com/page/content and then clicking on Obituaries.
 Then use the search engine there for Archer (case insensitive) for updates from after July 24, 2013 when the obits below were collected.

 I have annotated the Archer persons named in the obituaries and have between 4 and 7 generations of information on those Archer lines from my
 One Name Study collection of 40 years. I have more data and can be contacted at:

Archer Surnamed Persons in Obituaries published by the Parkersburg, WV
 "News and Sentinel" from 2010 to July 2013

 The obits are particularly valuable to identify female in-law lines of the Archers in the Ohio River Basin counties of Pleasants, Tyler, Jackson, and
 Wood Cos, WV and Washington, Noble and Monroe Cos., OH.

 My annotations are at the end of each obituary and begin as:  "[GWA Comment:"

 All ancestral strings that end with James I or Patrick are of one ancestral line: Patrick Archer c. 1719-1793, the Immigrant Irish Catholic ancestor
 and James I being his eldest of five sons:

 James, Joseph, Michael, Simon, and Jacob.

 Of these five sons, the only Archer descendants of Patrick among the obits herein are those of James I and Michael.

 There were several unrelated Archer lines in the Ohio River Basin area, but all of the newspaper obits where an ancestry is known pertain to Patrick's
 line.

 Abbreviations:

 b. = born
 d. = died
 dau = daughter
 md. = married
 c. = circa (Latin) "about" or approximately
