Patrick. Since this is a delayed birth, it appears that the father is a Richard
Hoblitzell and the mother's maiden name was ARCHER. The naming of the child with
the mother's maiden name suggests that the child may not have been legitimate
for the reasons noted below.
Richard Hoblitzell is listed in the 1880 US Census for Wood Co., WV in Dist.
163, outside Parkersburg in household 22 as a brother in law of John J.
Bartlett, 27 Ice Dealer b. VA (parents b. VA) md to Lovenia C., 21 b. VA
(parents b. VA). Richard b. WV age 15 (b. c. 1865) (Parents b. VA) and
occupation Ice Worker.
To verify the brother-in-law relationship and that Richard is Lovenia's
brother:

Waverly near the railroad. (Wood CO., Cemeteries Vol I, p. 133 published in the
W. Augusta Historical and Genealogical Soc. newsletter),
Richard Carlton Hoblitzell 24 md. Constance Olinda Henderson 22, both of Wood
Co., WV in Wood Co., WV on 9 Nov 1912. ("Wood County WV Marriages
1880-1925" p. 321, compiled by Wes Cochran, Parkersbug, WV [no date]. This
would make Richard's age c. 1888, too young to be the father of the Blanche
Archer above, unless his age on the marriage record is incorrect, more likely
since the other two records on someone with his name have age data provided by
persons other than Richard.
The unusual surname of Hoblitzell and distinctive middle name suggest the
census and marriage records apply to the same person, but the ages in both
records are radically different suggesting that the marriage record may be in
error. Richard's age in the census record better supports the birth record but
more evidence is needed to establish that this the same man with absolute
certainty.

2. Rosanna b. c. 1854, OH (Elisha, James, Joseph James I). Her parents lived
in Wirt Co., died in Jackson Co, and is buried in Wood CO.,WV.
3. Rose (Enoch, Joseph, James I) - she was b. c. 1865 of Enoch and his 3rd
wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Dement. Enoch both parents died in Wood Co., WV. Martin
Archer in his book "Genealogical History of the Archer Family" says
that she was unmarried but since Enoch lived much of his adult life outside of
Noble Co., OH, Martin's informants may have been mistaken.
4. Rose (Nathan, Joseph, James I) b. c. 1876 dau of Nathan and his second
wife, Mary M. Henry (Colins?). Martin Archer's sources said she married "Tompt.
Lyon" but not records to support that marriage have ever come to light in
any of the counties on either side of the Ohio River. Nathan died in 1888 in
Jackson Co. where he had lived since the early 1870's.]
